Asbestos is a killer.

People inhale airborne asbestos, composed of deadly invisible fibers the body can’t shed. Once ingested, the fibers become imbedded, especially in the lungs, causing diseases such as lung cancer. It may not happen for 30 years following exposure but it will happen. Some 16,000 people still die each year from asbestos-related diseases and as much as eighty percent of all buildings built before 1970 may still require some asbestos removal.
